Welcome to the website of Hotel Les Trois Lys. My name is Willem Meijer and I have been the proud owner of this hotel since 5 years.

I was born in the Netherlands and lived in Amsterdam for the greater part of my life. My parents used to take me travelling, most often to France and always with me and the Michelin guide in the back seat of the car. As soon as I was old enough to read I was given the important task of finding a nice hotel to spend the night whilst on our way to our final destination. This is one of the things that inspired me to start collecting all the red Michelin guides; I even went to a large fair in Clermont Ferrand in order to find the volumes that were still missing from my collection.

After secondary school I went to the Hotel School in Amsterdam. My education enabled me to work at several very good hotels, one of which was the renowned Hotel Sofitel Legend The Grand. This is a large international hotel in the centre of Amsterdam. Since my personal preference turned out to lie with smaller, more intimate hotels I started working at Hotel Weber. Here I realised that a small-scale hotel offers me the opportunity to give guests the undivided personal attention they deserve.

As the next step in my career I envisioned running my own business, preferably abroad. In 2013 the search began. After having visited several options in different places, a good friend told me about Hotel Les Trois Lys in Condom. The moment I set foot in Condom the charming village stole my heart. As if that wasn’t enough, the hotel turned out to be a beautiful historic building right in the centre of the village. I wasn’t familiar with the Gers area yet, even though I love Foie Gras and Magret de Canard, which the Gers is famous for. All the more reason for me to settle in Condom.

In November 2014 I became the proud owner of the hotel. As is usually the case, renovation and restoration was in order, but in April 2015 the moment I had long been waiting for had arrived: the opening of my hotel, Hotel Les Trois Lys.
All through the hotel authentic pre-war posters can be found. They stem from my father’s private collection, a collection that he built up over the years on his travels through France. I’m thrilled they have now found their way back to France and particularly to such a magnificent place in France.
